Project Description

We run windsurfing competitions and need an app to run on iphones that can connect to a mySQL database when in wifi signal and download a list of competitors from a table. When offline a simple form can then be displayed into which the race organiser inputs the numbers of sets of windsurf kit available for the race and the app splits the competitors into groups based on that figure. The names of each competitor can be read from the app. As each heat finishes the organiser must have a way to easily input the final position next to the each competitor's names in that heat. The next heat is then run. The top finishers of each heat go through to the next round of heats in a knockout format. When the final has been run then the final positions of all competitors are stored on the phone and uploaded to the same database when next online. We are a registered not for profit company so do not have a huge amount of funding but can offer a long timescale for development as we only need the app ready for August 2012. We aim to mainly run the app on iphones as we have lots of these available but if it can also be ipad workable that would be great. If you require further information please do ask.
